Degree in Economics
School: Pompeu Fabra University
Period: Sept 1998 - Dec 2002
Degree: Economics
After finishing school I wanted to go into journalism. I had the required grade and I had got a good entrance exam. However, I received advice from a tutor to "be a specialist in a subject to write about before learning to write". My parents also advised me to take a "traditional" degree rather than journalism to somehow ensure a "solid" education. My dream was really to be a journalist but as a teenager you still don't have much judgement or much confidence about your decisions and I followed the advice given. The truth is that today I am grateful for the advice and for having followed it.
For this reason I started to study Economics at Pompeu Fabra University.
Regarding the degree I must highlight that I really liked the subjects of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics since from their theoretical models numerous explanations of reality could be extracted. However, the subjects I enjoyed most were those related to marketing and commercial management.
Attached is the certified grades record:
Erasmus Scolarship
During my last year I decided to take a course abroad. I had the opportunity to go to Naples to do an Erasmus scholarship, which I took advantage of. The scholarship was specialized in International Trade and helped me to wake up and integrate into an unknown society and culture. Naples was also a peculiar city and I can understand that it is not an easy city for many people. However, it stole my heart and today I still remember my stay in Naples with great affection.
Once the scholarship was over and I returned to Spain, I finished the only subject I had pending - Econometrics - and that I had not been able to finish because of my scholarship, which only allowed me to take optional subjects and not the compulsory ones, such as Econometrics.
