Description

I started working at Coris while studying at the Pompeu Fabra University as an Administrative. The reason was to start earning an income with which to be self-sufficient and to start getting a feel for the reality of the professional market.

Coris is services company that offers home and travel care management services for different insurance companies.

Responsabilities

My tasks at Coris were basically to take charge of the comprehensive management of a claim. This included everything from contacting the customer (end user) who called to request assistance, to finding suppliers (plumbers, tow trucks, security agents, locksmiths, etc.) who could resolve the claim, to the economic assessment of the service and the decision to cover or not the claim based on the policy coverage.

Learnings

My assessment of my experience at Coris is positive, as it helped me develop the sales and empathy skills that would be useful in the future (through contact with customers) and to remain calm in stressful situations (for example, ins situations such as when a customer called at 11pm on a Sunday to report that he has been involved in a car accident 500km from home, loaded with suitcases and with a sick little child).

However, I admit that working at Coris made it impossible for me to do an internship at a company more in line with my interests, which would probably have helped me more in my professional future. For this reason, I have learned not to settle and to always seek to improve and continue learning new things.
